Patrice Bouveret is co-founder and current director of the Arms Observatory, created in 1984 in Lyon, an independent organisation that has been assessing the impacts of French nuclear testing in Polynesia and supports the work of civil society in regard to defence and security issues. He is a spokesman for the steering committee of ICAN France. His areas of expertise are the consequences of French nuclear tests and international arms trade.

He has several publications, notably the Damoclès Letter, and co-authors different reports on arms trade. He is also coordinator of the book “Demand! Total nuclear disarmament" signed by the Philosopher Stephan Hessel.
