Since 2022, Mia Kruska has been working as a project officer in the Asia Department and is responsible for the Southeast Asia region. Mia studied her Bachelor's degree at the University of Leipzig with the subject combination History and German Studies before completing her Master's degree in Modern South and Southeast Asia at the Humboldt University Berlin. Her main interests were Myanmar and the Thai border region with a focus on democracy development, political representation and armed resistance. Alongside her studies, she worked for the Goethe-Institut Yangon as well as journalistically in Myanmar, India, Thailand and Nepal. Since 2018, she has been active as a volunteer at the Myanmar Institut e.V..
