Roderick Kefferpütz

Roderick Kefferpütz (@rkefferputz) is a Senior Analyst at the Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS) where he heads the MERICS Lab. His expertise lies in geoeconomics and EU-China relations. Before joining MERICS, he was Deputy Head of Unit for Strategy at the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg. Prior to that he was head of office for MEP Reinhard Bütikofer, the chair of the European Parliament’s Delegation to China.

Roderick is also a freelance analyst and ghost-writer, having drafted speeches and opinion pieces for senior politicians and CEOs in Europe and the United States. He sits on the Heinrich Böll Foundation’s advisory board on Europe and transatlantic relations, is a member of the Atlantic Council’s US-Germany Renewal Initiative as well as an editorial board member of the Green European Journal. He holds an MPhil with distinction in Russian Studies from the University of Oxford.
